A TRYPANOCIDAL CHEMOTHERAPEUTIC INFECTION

COMPOSITION: Each vial contains:

Isometamidium chloride............................................ 125 mg

Excipient q.s.............................................................. 775 mg

INDICATION:

Prevention and treatment of trypanosomiasis caused by Trypanosoma vivax in camels.

DOSAGE:

Dissolve 775 mg of powder into 6 - 12 ml of sterile water, and shake gently to make the solution. Make sure that all product is well dissolved before the injection.

The dosage should be adjusted according to the sensitivity of local strains of trypanosome in consultation with the veterinarian.

For deep intramuscular administration

• Preventative dose: 0.5 - 1 mg/ kg B.W
• Curative dose: 0.25 - 0.5 mg/ kg B.W

Note:

• Do not inject more than 15 ml/ injection site. In case of higher volume, divide the total dose in 2 injections one far from the other.
• Respect the fundamental rules of asepsis.
• Repeated injections are needed at intervals of 10 to 12 weeks or more, depending on the level of fly challenge.
• Sterile or distilled water should be used to prepare the solution which must be used extemporaneously or stored in the fridge for 24 hours maximum.

Withdrawal time:

• For meat: 30 days.
• For milk: None

Contra-indication:

• Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to any components.
• Do not inject subcutaneously.
• Do not inject the product with another trypanocide at the same time.

PRESERVATION: Store at a cool place and keep out of direct sunlight.
